Ryan and I visited the Thinkers Cafe last weekend to grab a snack and some coffee, and I saw these adorable paintings and prints on the wall by Mike Dutton. He’s a local Berkeley guy, and I think he needs to be famous, because his art is awesome!!! I am very sad because almost all of his originals from the Venetian Bird Series are already sold…

HOWEVER…. he has a ton of prints for sale on etsy… and I think I’m going to get this one:

I think it will be cute in our bathroom!
And the best part? Only $20!!!
Yay for cool and cute art~!!!!!

but I think this is the only ‘Victorian’ home that we will ever be able to afford in SF (unless, for some reason, a million dollars just unexpectedly lands in our laps)

Sigh…
On a brighter note, I *finally* got my Yummy Breakfast keychains in… yahooooooo!!!! I’ll post more on them later!

Ok. So seriously, if this doesn’t make you laugh out loud, I don’t know what will. I’ve complained before about the ridiculous fire alarms at the wonderful, new, state-of-the-art Stanley Hall.
We had another one today.
This is the email I just got forwarded from my professor:

Subject: Stanley fire alarm - student who would not leave the building
Dear [Professors],
During today’s fire alarm, a female student that we assume is in one of your two work groups, refused to leave the building, in violation of the California Fire Code. She remained in Room XXXX. A Police Officer spoke with her, though I do not know what was said.
Today’s alarm was real: a corn dog was burned in a microwave, causing smoke to trigger three smoke detectors.
Please remind your students that it is required that they evacuate the building when the alarm sounds.
Thank you
[Building Manager]

Need I say more?
Or should the corn dog jokes begin?
PS. Said female student was not me.

Tonight, Ryan and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary with the usual: yummy food. We had a delicious dinner at Baraka - highly recommend the pistachio crusted goat cheese with honey, onions, and crostini!!!
The strange thing about being married for 2 years is that on the one hand, I feel like I’ve known Ryan forever and our relationship feels totally natural - and on the other hand I *still* feel like I’m pretending to be a grown up, old person that is married…
Ah well, who cares about my inner struggles… I leave you with a picture of our former, skinnier selves… but looking pretty much as we always do - Ryan with a smirk and me with my non-existent eyes. Ha!

PS - For the record, married life has been great… I love it!! Everyone should get married!! *hint hint - this applies to more than one of you couples out there!!!* (I promise I’ll help with the wedding planning… really!!!)
PPS - Pics of Ryan’s bday steak bonanza to come, I promise… I know, I’m a lame-o.
